Biography and Exhibitions
About Me:
Born in St Helens, Merseyside in 1982, I am a photographer who specialises in fine art, landscape, urban and architectural images. Mainly self-taught, I am influenced by an abstract style pioneered by the Bauhaus school of the early 20th century. My images forego the traditional landscape view of the world around us, often using a documentary approach to ask questions about how people and places co-exist and that the power and simplicity of light and shade that still has the power to move and inspire us. I use both film and digital, black and white and colour in my work. I find the North-West of England in particular a rich source of subject matter in its heavy social and visual contrasts between urban and rural, decayed and regenerated.
